First of all it incorporates a highly sensitive laser detector designed to alert you to all types of mobile laser guns. Snooper's laser detection technology is more accurate than ever, giving longer detection ranges and more advanced pre-warning. Snooper 3ZERO also incorporates a highly sophisticated radar detector. Many speed traps such as Gatso cameras and handheld radar guns transmit a radar beam which determines how quickly you are travelling. Snooper 3ZERO can detect radar 'scatter' from these speed traps and provide advance warnings of their position. Typical detection range or mobile speed traps using Radar/Laser receiver • Radar guns - up to 1 mile AURA speed camera database Unlike AURA, many other GPS databases rely largely on locations provided by hobbyists who might not be able to tell a speed camera or a red light camera from a traffic flow camera or a surveillance camera. These databases could result in annoying false alerts, which could lead you to start ignoring even legitimate alerts--defeating the point of having a GPS database in the first place. Other databases are not updated every day, and they also limit how often you can download updates. As a result, devices using these databases are not as up-to-date as they could be and are likely to miss alerts. Road Angel Gem like the Snooper 3ZERO utilises a GPS database and Laser detector to warn of fixed and mobile Laser based speed cameras. Snooper 3ZERO in addition also includes a built-in Radar detector as standard, which isn't available with the Road Angel Gem. Speed camera warnings on the Road Angel Gem are displayed on a OLED colour screen whilst the Snooper 3ZERO features an LED text display. Speed camera updates on the Snooper 3ZERO are via a PC with Internet connection. Road Angel Gem speed camera updates automatically via GPRS "mobile phone" technology every few minutes as you drive, so you always have the latest speed camera information. Road Angel Gem subscription is priced at 6 months for £39.99, 1 year for £65.99 or 3 years for £159.99. Snooper 3ZERO subscription is priced at £2.99 a month, £7.99 a quarter or £29.99 a year. |

Snooper Tigre like the Snooper 3ZERO utilises Radar and Laser detection to warn of fixed and mobile Laser/Radar based safety cameras. Snooper Tigre however unlike the Snooper 3ZERO doesn't include a GPS speed camera database. The plus side is that Snooper Tigre doesn't require any subscription charges. The downside is that without a GPS camera database the Snooper Tigre won't provide alerts to Truvelo or SPECS (average) speed cameras. This is because the Snooper Tigre relies soley on the detection of Radar and Laser bands, which are only emitted by (working) Gatso fixed cameras and Police handheld radar and laser guns. Snooper Tigre is an especially good buy if you already own a sat nav with a good speed camera database. If not, or if your looking for an all round speed camera detector then the Snooper 3ZERO with the GPS database would provide better coverage to all fixed and mobile cameras on the UK's roads. Snooper Tigre being purely a Radar and Laser detector doesn't require any subscription. Whilst Snooper 3ZERO GPS speed camera updates are priced at either £2.99 a month, £7.99 a quarter or £29.99 a year. |
