The Garmin StreetPilot 2720 provides text-to-speech announcements which prompt you to turn right in 500ft into 'Main Street', instead of simply turn right in 500ft. The Garmin StreetPilot 2720 also includes full UK postal code search and the StreetPilot 2720 is preloaded with mapping for UK and Western Europe.

The Garmin StreetPilot 2720 allows you to import customised Points Of Interest (POI) with the help of Garmin's free POI Loader software. You can then upload the speed camera locations or school zones, and you will receive a warning if you are travelling too fast. In addition, an optional proximity-alert feature notifies you of upcoming custom POIs.

In addition to point-to-point navigation, the Garmin StreetPilot 2720 can calculate the most efficient route between multiple destinations. Drivers can also tell the unit to avoid specific areas or road segments when calculating a route.
