Novus Piccolo Features Reviewed The entry-level Novus Piccolo is easy to install and alerts the driver to a fixed and possible mobile speed camera sites. Novus Piccolo provides speed limits at each speed camera location with spoken voice alerts and red LEDs counting down to the speed cameras location. When a speed camera warning is triggered, a chime is heard followed by an announcement such as ‘Warning speed camera 500 yards ahead - limit 30 miles per hour’, the speed limit at the speed camera site will flash for eight seconds, before going back to displaying the vehicle’s speed. This will typically happen at 500 yards from the speed cameras position, (in some cases a 500 yard warning is not ideal because of the road layout). A second chime is heard at 200 yards from the camera site, and if the vehicle is still over the speed limit, a continuous warning is heard ‘Warning – reduce speed’ until the vehicle speed drops to the speed limit, or the camera site is passed. Installing the Novus Piccolo is easy via the supplied magnetic dash mount, and the supplied vehicle power adaptor will work in vehicles between 12-24 volts. Allowing the Novus Piccolo to also be used in HGV's and other commercial vehicles. What we also liked about the Novus Piccolo is the fact that comes complete with FREE lifetime speed camera subscription. In addition when purchased from the online retailer ActiveGPS.co.uk the Novus Piccolo is also supplied with the necessary USB cable (normally £15.95) enabling the speed camera database updates via an Internet enabled PC. |
