How the Novus Rider speed camera detector warn you of a speed camera ahead

When you are approaching a fixed speed camera or a possible mobile speed camera site, the Novus Rider warns you approximately 500 yards before the speed camera. Our research has show that this is the preferred distance, giving ample advanced warning, but not too much such that you forget about the location of an approaching speed camera!

When you are 500 yards from the speed camera, a voice inside will say for example:

"Warning! Speed Camera 500 yards ahead, Limit 30 miles per hour."

When you are 200 yards away, the Novus Rider senses whether you are over speed for the approaching camera. If you are travelling at or below the speed limit, you will not be hassled with constant alerts before passing the camera or other hazard. The Novus Rider knows exactly how fast you are travelling by the GPS satellite technology and the award winning database knows the speed limit of the road on which you are travelling.

If you are exceeding the speed limit in the last 200 yards before the speed trap, Novus Rider will say:

"Attention! Reduce Speed."

It keeps repeating this message until you reduce your speed to the speed limit or below.

Novus Rider is powered via an internal lithium-ion rechargeable battery. This provides 4-5 hours operation in normal mode and 7-8 hours of operation in low power mode. The Novus Rider internal battery can then be charged either by the in car power lead or a PC/laptop using the USB cable. Both cables are supplied as standard with the Novus Rider. Typical in car battery recharging time is 70 minutes; by PC USB cable 140 minutes.

However unlike the Novus Rider which features a GPS database of speed camera locations the Snooper 3ZERO in addition also includes a built-in Radar and Laser detection. Novus Alpha V3 features the same speed camera database as the Novus Rider. But whereas the Novus Rider displays all alerts via a green LED text display, the Novus Alpha V3 utilises a 1.5-inch OLED screen, displaying speed camera type, camera speed limit, your vehicles speed and proximity bar to the speed cameras location. Meaning that, in addition to the voice alerts, at a glance all the necessary speed camera information can be read by the driver. Novus Alpha V3 also features an infra red remote control making it easy to select the various different camera/hazard warning types.
