Pogo Alert  GPS and Laser speed camera detector is the most sophisticated camera detector to own and use on UK roads.  Pogo Alert is the spiritual successor to the multi-award winning Origin b2. The Pogo Alert takes the technological advances made in the Origin b2 and yet again pushes the boundaries, adding a full colour 1.8" TFT LCD screen, all new menu-driven operating system, clear voice alerts and plug-and-play portability.

The Pogo Alert warns motorists of approaching speed cameras, accident blackspots, schools and congestion charge zones. In addition, alerts are provided for mobile laser traps via the supplied (removable) Pogo Alert infra-red laser detector module.

Pogo Alert utilises the award-winning Origin360 speed camera database pre-loaded, which contains GPS co-ordinates of ALL fixed installation speed traps, including Gatso cameras, Truvelo cameras, DS2 (Speedmaster), Watchman cameras, Speedcurb cameras and SPECS average speed cameras.

Pogo Alert also includes a highly sensitive infra-red laser detector to provide the fullest protection against mobile based speed traps and 'safety camera vans' via the supplied removable laser detector module.

The Pogo Alert speed trap proximity warning is user definable from 200metres to 2000metres or from 5-30 seconds. Voice warning of camera type/speed limit is provided when in the vicinity of a speed camera. Auto mute setting with adjustable "muted" volume is also available.

At each speed camera location the Pogo Alert displays the type of speed camera, vehicle speed, speed limit, road number and countdown (metres or seconds) to the speed trap. The Pogo Alert can also display distance covered, journey time and average speed.

The Pogo Alert includes Directional feature that provides warnings only for speed cameras positioned to catch drivers travelling in the direction of the user. The Limitator feature provides full warnings only if the user is exceeding the prevailing speed limit. Screen colour changes from to red when exceeding prevailing speed limit (when in range of a speed trap/hazard). The Motorway feature sets the Pogo Alert to sound warnings only for speed cameras which are sited on the motorway network. Motorway warnings will start further away than normal warnings (factory settings 700metres OR 20seconds on motorway mode).

From the maker of the Origin b2 – a former Auto Express product test winner – the new Pogo range offers a compact alternative to often bulky rivals. The Pogo Alert is only slightly bigger than a ring box and packs in a host of features. Most important of the lot is the speed camera-locating GPS technology that uses satellite positioning and a comprehensive database of traps. The Alert flashes up a display of the type of camera you’re approaching and a beep as you near it. It warns of Gatso, Watchman, Specs, Truvelo, and Speed Curb, plus known locations of speed camera vans and accident black-spots. It performed well on our test, even if the alerts were sometimes a little slow. The menu is also fiddly to navigate, but otherwise it impresses.

The new Novus Alpha speed camera detector is a purely GPS based speed camera detector. Relying simply on the internal updateable speed camera database to provide all alerts to the driver. The Pogo Alert in addition to the GPS speed camera database also provides alerts to mobile speed camera vans and other roadside handheld devices via the supplied Laser detector.
