Target LaserTrack LT450 explained
The Target LaserTrack LT 450 is an advanced, Class 1, laser remote control system which can be used for various different uses. These uses include:

In addition when the LT 450 encounters a laser signal e.g. mobile laser speed gun it will:

The Target Laser Track LT 450 is fully automated and without any necessary input from the user e.g. it works without pressing a button. When opening electric gates, etc it will work at a distance equal to that of radiographic remote control.
Can other Target LaserTrack users gain access to my grounds or garage? No, Target LaserTrack has more than 4.5 thousand million unique codes. Only vehicles for which the code has been programmed in the basic transponder can gain access.

What does the LT 450 do when it encounters a laser gun?
When the Target Laser Track 450 encounters a 'live' in use laser device e.g. Pro Laser II speed camera gun, it recognises this as an external source of interference and temporary blocks the signal for up 9 seconds. After this time has elapsed the LT 450 automatically switches itself off. In addition the LT 450 provides a visual and audibly alert in your vehicle, so that you are aware that a laser device has been detected by the LT 450.
The LaserAlert 450 covers laser based devices. However, for alerts to fixed speed camera location such as Truvelo and SPECS cameras requires a speed camera detector with a GPS (Global Position System) database.
GPS detector (like the Cheetah c550 - pictured left) don't solely detect but instead also ultilise a database of known locations and speed limits. Target LT450 and external laser signals
The LT 450 laser device operates on a worldwide standard frequency of 904 nm (nanometre) - the wavelength which emits infrared laser light - the same wavelength that Police laser guns also operate on.
The Target Laser Track LT450 features intelligent electronic technology that is capable of recognising the signals of laser guns and other laser systems that use the same wavelength; e.g. hunting or surveyor range finders, police laser systems or vehicles fitted with laser based adaptive cruise control systems that use the same frequency.
After recognising an unknown infrared signal the Target LaserTrack automatically switches itself off after a few seconds to prevent interference and, for instance, enable a laser speed control measurement. In this case you will be informed by a light and audio signal in-car, via the supplied piezo signal device.

Installing the Target Laser Track 450
The Target LaserTrack LT 450 requires installation within the engine bay and front grill of your vehicle. The LT450 is NOT a plug and play device, and as such you may require the services of a qualified auto electrician to install it.
When mounting the LT400 transponder it's recommended that you install the transponder in the middle of your vehicle, behind the front grill and preferably near your cars number plate. When laser guns are aimed at a vehicle, the operator will aim and fire his laser gun e.g. Pro Laser II at a flat area to gain an accurate speed reading which in most cases is the vehicles number plate.
The LT400 transponder is then mounted into place using the supplied mount bracket and screws.
Please note: It's important to ensure the transponder is aligned correctly, further information on correctly aligning the transponder can be found on page 7 of the operating manual.
