Northamptonshire Speed Camera Location

TruveloNearest Town/village: Northampton
Road Name: Towcester Road
Direction of Camera: Both directions
Speed Limit: 30mph

Speed Camera Details: Halfway up/down the Towcester Road from Far Cotton to the Tesco roundabout, outside the 'Far Cotton Boys Club', its got a couple of trees either side of it which obscure it from view as you approach it from either direction, but you can see the white markings on the road which give it away. It's not too bad going up the hill towards Tesco because you will rarely find yourself speeding in that direction but coming down the hill it is very easy to overstep the limit. When coming downhill it's on your right and uphill is on the left obviously. They change the direction it's facing regularly but at seemingly random intervals.

Camera reference number: EMNOR027

Truvelo speed camera

TruveloTruvelo cameras like the one in the above location use loops in the roads surface to trigger the camera when a speeding vehicle passes them.

What's more and different about the Truvelo when compared to other fixed cameras such as the Gatso, is the fact the Truvelo also photographs the driver of speeding vehicle too. More about Truvelos.

Northamptonshire Police

Northamptonshire County Council withdraw funding from the Casualty Reduction Partnership in 2011.
