Nearest Town/village: Nottingham
Road Name: A6514 - Nottingham Ring Road
Direction of Camera: Both directions
Speed Limit: 40mph
Speed Camera Details: The SPECS speed cameras are in both directions when joining the Ring Road. i.e. between the A610 and ASPLEY Lane (the first roundabout) and between A610 and Basford heading toward Mansfield / Southwell. Both are located within a few hundred yards of the A610 and are on both sides of the carriageway. Update: Two new cameras installed on the ring road towards Mansfield between Baseford (McDonalds) and Hucknall Road (Sherwood) traffic island. Update: Additional SPECS now cover most of the 40mph section of the Ring Road, this covers ALL the way (in a clockwise direction) from the A52 Derby Road flyover junction, to the A611 Hucknall Road junction, a distance of about 4 miles - a 1 mile section from the A611 to the A60 Mansfield Road has been spared for the moment.
New Specs cameras have now been put in place on a further section of the A6514 Ring Road - named also Valley Road; this section of Road is from the A611 Hucknall Road roundabout to Edwards Lane. Please note: The final section of Ring Road to date, does not have cameras currently, but I think its just a matter of time to be honest. I will post back regarding the final section of road if there's any changes - that is from Edwards Lane to Mansfield Road A60.
Variable speed cameras from the end of the Ringroad (A60) to bottom of Oxclose Lane. (Wickes)

The speed camera location above uses a SPECS average speed monitoring camera.
Unlike other fixed cameras such as the Gatso which checks your speed at a particular point, SPECS systems which are often mounted on blue or yellow gantries monitor and record your vehicles average speed between two or more points along a section of road e.g. in roadwork's.
Nottinghamshire Safety Camera Partnership first began operating in April 2000. The aim of the partnership is road casualty reduction. The partnership programme also aims to educate drivers about the consequences of speeding and to improve compliance with speed limits and traffic signals. Learn more.
