Nearest Town/village: Smitham
Road Name: A23
Direction of Camera: Northbound but reversible
Speed Limit: 30mph
Speed Camera Details: USUALLY FACES NORTH: You have left the 40mph restriction after the A23/Coulsdon and are now in a 30mph zone. Pass under a rail bridge at Smitham station, then past a Pizza Hut and Natwest bank carry on, look out for two bus stops on your left - the speed camera is on the central island after the second bus stop. COULD FACE SOUTH: Having got through the Tesco speed cameras (See Entry Ref.#:GL008 for details). You come to a set of traffic lights at which the you must take the outer lane to go straight ahead (nearside lane is for left filter only). You will see Purley fire station on the right, slow down now until you confirm that the camera is indeed facing in its usual northerly direction using the bus stops as guidelines. There are no other speed cameras going south between the Tesco speed camera (See Entry Ref.#:GL008 for details) and the speed cameras in the next 40mph restriction which is past OLD COULSDON station so relax BUT DON'T GO TOO FAST THROUGH SMITHAM TOWNCENTRE, it is a HIVE OF ACTIVITY.
Camera reference number: GL015
