Gatso Speed Camera on Chain Bridge Road, Blaydon (50mph)

50mph speed limit Gatso speed camera

This Gatso speed camera is located on Chain Bridge Road near Blaydon in Tyneside and Teesside, monitoring westbound traffic with a 50mph speed limit.

The speed camera is on a dual carriageway out in the open on the left hand side. There is also a small road sign in front of it so you cannot see it until you are right up on top of it. The Gatso speed camera is positioned where the dual carriageway (70mph) splits with white road markings into two single carriageways where you are not allowed to overtake. Could be thought to still be 70mph or even 60mph, but is in actual fact only 50mph. Confusing!
